A prefinished floor is a floor where the finish is applied at the factory. Most ( but not all ) laminated products are prefinished, as well as many solid wood products are available prefinished.

Several finish options are available in prefinished products, including ultraviolet cured urethane, water-based urethane, moisture-cured urethane and seal and wax.

Please consult Bruce Hardwood Floor Service as to which finishes are available on the product of your choice. Purchasing prefinished flooring eliminates the dust and noise factors involved in the job-site finishing process, however, your finish and stain options are more limited.
